Apple Crisp

'Tis the season for Apple Crisp

This is super easy but delicious...

Topping

1 cup GF flour (not the Dummies mix with xanthum gum)
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional: I used pecans)
1 tsp grated citrus rind (optional)
1/3 cup butter, melted

1) Mix together dry ingredients
2) Drizzle with melted butter and stir until crumbly

Fruit Filling

6-7 cups sliced fruit (apples in this case)
3 Tablespoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and nutmeg
1 tablespoon cornstarch

1) Mix fruit with sugar, spices and cornstarch
2) Place in a buttered 9 inch or 2L baking pan
3) Sprinkle with topping
4) Bake in 350 degree oven, until fruit is bubbly or topping is crisp, 40 - 60 minutes

  1. This looks so good. I am so jealous of Dad - he's a lucky guy to be a taste tester!
